No more excuses...

I read a post on my friend Emma's facebook. She has worked her butt off and lost 75lbs so far. She's gone hardcore too. I'm so stinkin proud of her. She's an inspiration to me. I've been talking about doing that.. but just haven't really taken it seriously - to the point of COMMITTING TO IT... until today.

Today my husband and I made a commitment to each other. We are taking our relationship to the next level. :) We are now going to be ACCOUNTABILITY PARTNERS! That's right. He and I both want 2011 to be the year that we change these bodies we're living in, into sweat loving, fat burning, healthy eating machines! This is exciting for me because for ONCE he's on board with me! He's never had an issue with his weight or health, until he hit 30 years old. :) (and still he's not really overweight) I have struggled with my weight for as long as I can remember. I don't want to be consumed with fear or obsession about my weight. But, I'm not getting any younger... I want to enjoy my life for as long as I can. All the fad diets I've tried have failed me... and ruined my metabolism.

THE AGREEMENT...
Starting tomorrow, Keith and I will hold each other accountable to exercise DAILY - for at least 30 mins a day for 28 days straight. NO MORE EXCUSES.

CONSEQUENCES FOR BEING A SLACKER...
If either of us fails to exercise for 30 mins on any given day, we will not be able to use the internet until we exercise for an additional 30 mins to make up for lost time... or lose the day's internet browsing completely. (...that might kill me)

So... No Internet might just be the trick I've needed to get my butt in gear ...

GOAL
1) To exercise daily for 30 min increments by using, "The Biggest Loser" Kinect game - or "Dance Central exercise portion" or "walk/run" for 30 mins or more.

2) To lose 30 pounds by June 1st; 1-2lbs a week.

Totally doable.

What kind of a Life Coach will I become if I can't Life Coach MYSELF into successful, healthy habits?? Right?

At the end of the 28 days - we will re-access our goals/successes and create ANOTHER 28 goal/challenge.

I offer myself to you - my friends/family/general public to help keep me accountable to maintain this commitment.

    Cept, I've got to wait til I get back home.
    Until then, I'll just continue to shiver as exercise.

  2. You can do it. And esp with doing it together. When Marc and I did the p90x together we were stronger. So excited for you two.

  8. Way to "be the change you want to see in the world!" I haven't found a single thing that's motivating me to get the last 5 pounds off, so I'm just going to tote them around for a while.
